PSA rented the entire Palais 3 and filled it with world-class decoration and the best that its four brands have to offer.
Peugeot showcased its offering with a strong focus on its successful SUVs. This time without excessive show elements like the king-size lion of last year’s Autosalon.
Citroen presented a strange Ami One concept car behind its stage. Citroën designed this car, as an alternative to public transport and individual, two-wheeler means of transportation such as bikes and scooters.
The ultra-compact (2.50 m long) two-seater concept should bring agility in urban environments.
PSA’s premium brand DS was able to sport the finest stages at car shows without even having a single decent premium model.
Now that the mid-size premium DS7 SUV shows a sturdy contribution to sales and the DS team Techeeta won the Formula E championship, DS has the substance to match the stage.
As in Frankfurt, the Opel stage featured the yellow e-Path, running diagonally up to the Opel Elektro-GT concept. The cars symbolise a bridge from the past to future developments in electric mobility.
I see a bit of irony in using a 50-year-old unsuccessful concept, as the most innovative part of the company.
The stage is however complete and well designed with quite some substance on the drivetrains of the future and the current model range with a world premiere of the facelifted Insignia.
