From 25 April to 29 June, Autoworld hosts an exquisite selection of Citroën cars honouring the 70th anniversary of the DS Brand. The curators procured rare and unique specimens to make it unforgettable for French car fans.

The Belgian national auto museum presents a special exhibition titled “Citroën DS – An Icon Turns 70”, showcasing almost every version and variant. From the first ID19 to the DS23 Pallas, the last DS to roll off the production line in 1975.

The DS is a true design icon. In 1999, a jury of 20 top automotive designers voted the Citroën DS as the most beautiful car of all time. A DS is a mandatory part of every serious exhibition on car design, such as Autoworld’s recent expo, or Autostadt’s permanent exhibition on car design, but also for most car museums, like the Turinese MAuto keep one as part of their permanent exhibition.

Beyond its stunning beauty, the DS was also a technical marvel. Its revolutionary aerodynamics, disc brakes, swivelling headlights, fibreglass roof, and hydropneumatic suspension with ride height correction made the DS one of the most comfortable cars ever built.

The DS was one of the last modern cars to widely benefit from the work of coachbuilding companies. High-end cabriolet versions and purpose-built utility wagons, the DS had it all, and the organizers gathered several special versions to recall the colourful offering of this extraordinary model.

The exhibition is scheduled to last until 29 June, and for the upcoming exhibitions, we recommend visiting Autoworld’s website.
