Hello World! – Let me introduce you to my Blog!
I decided for the name egzostive.com, as I like to cover everything that has an exhaust (and a few things that lack one, Tesla I am looking at you : ) ). I also hope that you will find my posts with hundreds of photos quite exhaustive. This website is the English language tentacle of my Hungarian automotive blog that contained most of my automotive escapades, from world class classic car shows through test drives and road trips to all my private thoughts about car industry and automotive culture.
Autossagok.blog.hu started out as an advanced commenting resource, whereby I could simply link posts, and I can easily back up my arguments with documented experience. This came handy e.g. when I had to prove, that I actually drove a particular car.
Thus, some of my first posts were impressions from test drives, that I do not plan to publish on egzostive. The other group of initial posts relate to films as well as cinematic and cultural experiences that I considered worth noting.
These include my favourite commercials and cinematic top lists.
One of the major advantageous of living in the heart of Western Europe is to reach incredible automotive locations from factory museums to car shows. The Old continent probably offers the widest range of exquisite automotive indulgence.
The rich history paired with economic strength in Stuttgart leaves a fundamentally different impression than the stylish savoir fair of Paris with the record braking auctions and the treasure vault of French manufacturers.
The neck-to-neck duels in Goodwood are nothing like the experience in Tourin’s interactive car museum or the centre of excellence in and around Modena.
Even in the very same town of Salzburg, the flamboyant collection of Mr Mateschitz draws a clear contrast to the modest private heritage of the Porsche Family.
For those who can not travel that far to see them all, international classic car events bring the action to them.
In the Essen Techno Classica or at Retromobile Paris we can admire the best of the factory museums with historical masterpieces at a stage comparable to international car shows.
For those who seek a more contemporary setting, I tried to cover many international car shows, such as Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, or Paris.
