Just before the end of the year, we attended a classic car race in Belgium that specialised in prewar cars. The event is a car rally for prewar vehicles held on the third weekend of December throughout the night of 21 December 2024.
The event is not designed as a test of speed but of the reliability of the motorcar under harsh conditions and of the consistency and skills of the driver and mechanic. The objective is to complete the course, visiting all control points along the way in the correct order and within the set time.
Each year, the event lays down a different route, also giving a different name for its primary location in Belgium or the Netherlands, such as Bruges in 2023, Ypres in ’22 or Rotterdam in 2018.
The photos are courtesy of Inge Hollevoet, a.k.a. Car Pictures Lady, a hobby photographer passionate about photographing classic cars. She runs her own website, CarPicturesLady, and regularly posts new photos on her Facebook page about classic car events around Belgium. We regularly meet at car shows and started to follow her Facebook page. She published an extensive photography collection covering regional car BeNeLux events, and we are happy that she provided us with her favourite event photos.
