3. The Batmobile from the 1989 Batman movie is still the best-looking movie car of all time
Batman’s “company car” was part of the franchise from the early days of the TV series, yet Tim Burton’s Batman movies raised the bar in several ways. The car was designed by conceptual illustrator Julian Caldow and built by John Evans’ special effects team at Pinewood Studios in England.
The car is a movie car icon, and combines the gothic Art Deco styling of the movie with the back of the Fiat Turbina.
The body of the car was sculpted out of foam for a body built on a Chevrolet Impala chassis. Two cars were built for the movie, and we don’t think this could be one of the originals. It belonged to a Museum near Paris, and was part of the exhibition dedicated to movie cars. Nevertheless, a great car that stole the show in Paris.
For an easier overview, we include the links of all the cars so far at the end of this article.
