The best Bond cars of all time, from the Bond in Motion exhibition

3. The “Vanish” from Die another day – the 2002 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish

The Aston Martin V12 Vanquish was positioned at the top of the line at the beginning of this millennium. This model was also designed by Ian Callum, who took inspiration from the classic DB4 GT Zagato, projecting a more aggressive presence than the standard DB7s and DB9s. The Vanquish is one of our favourite Astons of all time, and it combined the gimmicks and excess of the Brosnan era with the traditional supplier of MI6.

The vehicle was equipped with a wide variety of gadgets, including machine guns and missiles on the grille and tire spikes for snow use. Bond used the car’s ejector seat to flip the car back up defying the laws of gravity (and spectacularly abusing CGI).

The car’s target-seeking shotguns could eliminate even the car’s manuals, and its cloaking device earned it the nickname “Vanish”.
