InterClassics always gathers exciting rarities and unusual specimens. After last year’s curiosities, we decided to run with another cool list. The list features cars of various epochs and categories that are impossible to match. Thus, we aim to offer you a diverse list…

Porsche and Gulf are an iconic pairing.

We are not sure if the 928 was never entered as an official factory race car, but the paring of Golf livery and Porsche is one of the most iconic combinations in motorsports.

The Lamborghini Diablo is a timeless masterpiece.

Again, a Diablo itself would not necessarily strike out in this show’s impressive offering of exotics and rarities. Yet this specimen really left a great impression with its iconic red exterior and elegant beige interior.

The pricing of Lamborghinis never drops to the levels affordable by mortals, but the Diablo is ageing like a fine wine.

The 1934 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 is an old familiar

This red 1934 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 race car was one of our personal favourites from Antwerp Concours 2022 and still delivered a great show here.

The car might seem much more modern, thanks to the fact that it was re-bodied by Brussels coachbuilder Bidée in 1950.

The Lotus Espirit in British racing green is another iconic pairing

It was also nice to see a factory-themed stage from the British brand, and we also have a faible for this model.

 

Maserati Quattroporte fire truck is a fast way to safety.

This stylish fire truck converted from a Maserati Quattroporte I. This car was designed to be a track service car, true to its Italian style.

The Prototipo by Frua is one of the most exquisite Maserati Quattroporte specimens ever built.

By the seventies, the Quattroporte was one of the few remaining models coach built to individual needs. The two Prototypes served as rolling demonstrators and configurators while also stealing the show at car exhibitions. This specific car had a very intense first few years, from the Paris Salon de l’Automobile in 1971 through Geneva 1972 to the Salón Internacional del Automóvil de Barcelona in 1973 and 1974. The car inspired several wealthy customers to order their tailor-made Quattroportes from the factory.

The car now enjoys a similar role touring several car events, including Autoworld’s Maserati exhibition.

Opting for an Enzo is always a safe bet.

The Ferrari Enzo was developed with the help of Michael Schumacher and considered the very pinnacle of road-legal cars of its day. Inspired by the Ferrari single-seater, it featured a particularly innovative interface, the Manettino. These are controls moved to the steering wheel, following the advice of the most successful F1 driver of all time.

The 100th anniversary of Bugatti’s iconic Type 35 was a major theme of InterClassics.

This year’s central theme was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Bugatti’s iconic Type 35. The Type 35 was built from 1924 to 1930 in various variants. It is often credited as the most successful Grand Prix race car ever, winning over 1000 races. It was one of the first cars designed as a single construction and offered in a ready-for-the-race package. It is also the first car with cast aluminium rims, and its 2.2 inline 8-cylinder engine produced over 140 PS, bringing the race car to speeds above 200 km/h.

The 1988 Benetton B188-01 is a stuff of legends.

The Benetton B188 is a Formula One racing car designed by legendary car designer Rory Byrne and entered by the Benetton team for the 1988 Formula 1 season and in the first half of the 1989 Formula 1 season.

The B188 was driven by the Belgian Thierry Boutsen, touring car ace Alessandro Nannini, scoring several podium finishes.

1953 Maserati A6GCS was awarded best of show, and we certainly can not argue.

This exciting specimen was showcased at Autoworld’s stage. The Belgian National Auto Museum joined the celebrations honouring the 110th anniversary of Maserati with a brilliant exhibition.

This blue car announced the exhibition and illustrated the mind-blowing selection the curators assembled.
