This year’s Retro Classics occupied some 10 halls and floors, each offering a different focus, like factory stages or thematic exhibitions.
Hall 1 is a central focal point, but each hall offers new impulses and an additional variety to the visitor experience.
Hall 1 also featured several traders, a flagship stage from Motorworld and the Auctioneer’s area. They were indeed no match for the lavish stages delivered at Retromobile, but they still brought a significant wow factor.
Lesser represented brands are scattered around the halls, and even those that were not hosting the factory stage could offer some snacks for fans of those brands, like several crazy Mercs outside Hall 1, club corners, a 911 exhibition in Hall 3 or the Italian race cars courtesy of Fazatec in hall 5.
A special exhibition honouring the iconic Porsche 911
In Hall 3, iconic 911 derivatives stole the show from the neighbouring Mercedes Classics stage. Visitors could witness ten masterpieces ranging from private initiatives such as Benjamin Hendel’s ‘Desert Fox’ to the iconic Singer. Porsche Heritage and Museum contributed with the 911 Carrera RSR Turbo 2.1, the first Porsche racing car with a turbo engine to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Fazatec honoured the 50th anniversary of the Lancia Montecarlo
The Fazatec team celebrated 50 Years of the Lancia Montecarlo with six milestones from the Montecarlo’s model range and racing history, lined up in Hall 7. The replica exhibits included a super rare Abarth SE 030 racing prototype, a Lancia SE 037, the Stratos, a Group 5 Turbo and a Lancia 037 Group 4 conversion.
Speaking of the Stratos, we spotted another one in the gallery of Hall 1. Stratos is paired with an Audi Quattro rally car and a 16-cylinder prewar monster with an Auto Union badge.
The American Way of Drive is must-see for all fans of US cars
The special exhibition American Way of Drive focusses classic US cars, muscle cars, hot rods, and lowriders paying tribute to the American driving culture.
Hall 6 was home to the classic mastodons: size does matter…
Auwärter Automobile Park showcased historic commercial vehicles and buses as a “Heavy Duty” exhibition in Hall 6. The exhibits included rare coaches, trucks, and tractors from the past 70 years.

Hall 6 also welcomed a spectacular display of large fire trucks and engines. The dozen vehicles include turntable ladders, fire engines, and other emergency vehicles with a fantastic variety and size.
We are preparing a third article with more details on our favourite vehicles. Stay tuned!
