This November, I manged to discover another automotive pilgrimage site, that I never heard before. The Abarth Works Museum is not a factory or national museum, and even upon arrival, at first glance, visitors might not suspect anything particular. The museum is a small classic car dealership, with a few dozen cars in display mainly of Italian origin.
The most striking car of the whole place is an Abarth 030 remake on Lancia Monte Carlo basis.
Given that the racing Lancias were partly developed on Abarth prototypes the retrofitting is not quite inappropriate. In the forums around the Collection’s website documents the makeover pretty well.
Quite up there is a Fiat Abarth X1/9 prototipo using fiat 131 Abarth 16 V engine…
Since then I managed pay another visit in July 2019, and a more comprehensive review with even more pictures are stuffed into this post:
The Abarth Works Museum is the best place to celebrate the brands 70th birthday
