To commemorate its 40th birthday, Autoworld brought back the crème de la crème of more than 100 temporary exhibitions. The exhibition is open from 11 September to 13 December and features cars and motorcycles that have appeared in one of Autoworld’s numerous temporary exhibitions. Each car carries a special and well-illustrated link to the museum’s history.
This new exhibition, “Autoworld 40 Years – Looking back to the future,” marks 40 years of Autoworld’s history with a comprehensive and eclectic selection of exhibits. The cars range from pre-war models to modern supercars, including the iconic Bugatti Type 35, the 2014 Mercedes W05 Hybrid F1 champion car, the Lamborghini Miura, the rare Muntz Jet, the “flying” Citroën DS and the Porsche 918 (if you would like to take a guess, we covered most of Autoworld’s exhibitions, at least from the past 10 years).
Each vehicle will be linked to the exhibition in which it was once displayed, and the central piece of the exhibition is a wall presenting an overview of all the exhibitions Autoworld has organised over the years.
Autoworld also published a short video that summarises 40 years of Autoworld through images, moments, and memories from the museum’s history. The date of 4th October will mark the anniversary day with the Museum preparing special celebrations, including taxi rides with iconic cars from their collection.
