Coolest cars of the 2026 Paris Car Show part 1

This year’s Paris Car Show excelled on all fronts and clearly reaffirmed its place among the best car shows. One way Paris clearly outdoes other car shows (including the brilliant Brussels car show) is its abundance of cool, unusual cars, especially the concepts.

We initially planned to assemble a Top 20 list (which already grew from 10 in 2022), but the show was so good that we couldn’t stop at under 40 vehicles. The list includes cars in all shapes and sizes from several epochs (though mainly the future). You will find exciting concepts, premiere sports cars as well as race cars from several track and off-road series. For a sneak preview, take a look at the gallery below.

40. The Ford RS200 is a blast from the past

Ford bet heavily on its competition pedigree, showcasing its race cars from several racing series. While Max Verstappen’s Red Bull car is arguably a strong argument for Ford’s racing prowess, we went with the Group B monster RS200 for purely sentimental reasons.

The Ford RS200 is a mid-engined, all-wheel-drive sports car produced from 1984 to 1986 to meet the 200-unit production requirement set by FIA regulations for entry into the infamous Group B series. Unfortunately, Group B was cancelled before the car could compete in WRC.

39. When the Vehicle becomes the Space

Okay, that’s a steep turn from the RS200, as the Robobus from PIX is the exact opposite. It’s big, bulky, electric and self-driving (ewwww : ) ).

But it is one variation of the future that is knocking on our door. This provider is now operational on several continents, so it’s a future in the making, even if we never asked for it.

38. Tesla’s Cybercab is another great answer to a question we never asked

When we first encountered this car, we expected it to be a concept foreshadowing Tesla’s new budget entry (Model 2). For any typical company. However, Tesla is not your average car company.

They actually plan to market this as a Robotaxi, a two-passenger battery-electric self-driving car. No steering, no pedals, no safety net.

37. TAO’s love bus is a refreshing programme between halls

I know what you’re thinking, but it’s not that kind of love bus… : )

TAO is actually the creative name of Valerio Ziglioli an Italian singer, composer, musician and record producer, blending American rock with Italian singing. He created the TAO Love Bus Experience to promote his music as he travelled across Italy, and he also attended several car shows from Bologna to Paris. The vehicle is a Volkswagen T2 van converted into a mobile stage and tour bus for the artist and his band.

The bus also transports all their instruments and the mixing console, and the sound engineer works as driver. The design was courtesy of Marco Fiori and Patty Pey, evoking the psychedelic, cartoonish aesthetic of Yellow Submarine and the Flower Power era of San Francisco.

36. The DS F3VER unveils the future of DS design

The DS F3VER is a concept car introducing the latest evolution of DS Automobiles’ design language. The small hatchback was unveiled at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, but we couldn’t give it a higher ranking.

35. The KTM X-Bow GT-XR is a hypercar with a motorcycle soul

French car website Caradisiac left a strong impression with its booth in Hall 7.1, right next to the Tesla stand.

The stage’s hero car is an X-Bow GT-XR from Austrian motorcycle specialist KTM, the long-wheelbase, street-legal model of the X-Bow. It retains the 2.5-litre Audi TFSI 20-valve I-5 engine from the GTX, producing 493 hp and 582 Nm of torque. It might be the heaviest car in the KTM lineup, with a dry weight of 1,250 kg, but it still hits 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and tops out at 280 km/h.

34. Ford’s T1 entry is an off-road monster

Ford’s stage was loaded with race cars, and this 4×4 got its own podium. For this car, Ford enlisted its trusted M-Sport division and recruited renowned drivers like Rallye legend Carlos Sainz Sr. He’s literally senior,  still racing at the tender age of 64 and finished 5th at this year’s Dakar.

Group T1 is FIA’s technical specification for prototype cross-country cars used in off-road Cross-Country Rallying (also called Rally Raid). The cars are purpose-built,  based on a spaceframe chassis, but the engine must derive from a production car.

33. The Toyota TR LH2 Racing Prototype projects the future of racing

The TR LH2 Racing Prototype is based on the same chassis as the TR010 HYBRID Hypercar that competes in the WEC series and raced at this year’s Le Mans. It is intended to advance the development of hydrogen technology in motorsports.

The car was unveiled before the Le Mans race, and Toyota is now using it as a rolling lab and advertisement board. The car is accompanied by local hero Peugeot’s 9×8 race car (competing in WEC’s hypercar series).

32. Fiat’s Multiplay is a massive improvement over its predecessor

Fiat’s brand-new concept car is a massive departure from the ailing FIAT model lineup. The car’s name playfully (pun intended) hints at an ill-fated predecessor, one of the weirdest cars of all time: the Multipla.

The new Multiplay concept was unveiled at the 2026 Paris Motor Show and explores a new approach to family mobility, combining the generous space of an MPV, the bigfoot character of an SUV and the functionality of a pick-up in merely 4.45 meters.

31. The LI Megahome is the Chinese version of a luxury van

LI Auto’s stage was a spectacle on its own, but we especially loved this giant, streamlined van.

The distinctive futuristic shape and spacious 7-seater 2+2+3 configuration make this an ideal tour bus, but honestly, most politicians would probably prep their chequebook if this came from an established European manufacturer.

Here we take a rhetorical break, as the list is quite long. Stay tuned for 30 more cars!
