Car spotting at the Heritage Hall

The Heritage Hall is the special thematic exhibition of the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. Located directly by the Torhaus entrance, it occupy the ground floor of Hall nr 4, at a total area of over 11,000 square meters.

This section is devoted to exclusive classic cars and motorcycles in the high-end segment.

As the name suggests, the hall is run under the auspices of Motorworld, that operates one of the largest networks of classic and luxury car centres. I paid a visit to their Stuttgart and Rheinland site, and I recommend to have a look at my report on the Schumacher Collection.

The Schumacher Collection is an emotional journey through the career of the greatest F-1 Legend

Similarly to the concept of Motorworld itself, the Heritage Hall offers exhibitors a unique platform to showcase their collections and provides visitors with a rich, high-quality car spotting experience.

The centre of the hall is occupied by Ferrari special stage showcasing a Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa Spider Scaglietti from 1958, a 1960 Ferrari 250 GT California Spider SWB and a Ferrari 365 GTB / 4 Daytona.

The Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa is among the most valuable automobiles ever, with a market value estimated between 15 and 30 million euros. The Testa Rossa shown at the IAA is the seventh of a total of 20 produced specimen.

The California Spider is also a true rarity – only 56 pieces were built from this special version with a short wheelbase. Due to its design, it is one of the most coveted vintage cars in the world and is therefore with a market value of about 15 million euros also one of the most valuable classic cars among the street models ever.

The third car is a Ferrari 365 GTB / 4 Daytona celebrating the model’s 50th  anniversary: in 1969 a model with exactly the same delivery specifications was showcased at the IAA.

There are a few big names among the exhibitors. BRABUS Classic brought perfectly restored Mercedes-Benz classics to Frankfurt, in addition to their over the top contemporary work. Their fleet included a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster, a sleek sports car that derived from the legendary gullwing SL. The Roadster managed to conquer a wealthy and famous clientele, among them Sophia Loren, Tony Curtis and Clark Gable.

Also, there is a brilliant concept car that is nothing short of extraordinary. The Pininfarina Battista was unveiled in Geneva this year and is scheduled to arrive in 2020 as the most powerful road-legal car ever designed and built in Italy. Its Remac electric powertrain will have a whopping 1900 hp and 2,300 Nm torque with zero emissions. The vehicle was listed quite high in my favourite concept car list…
