The PS Speicher proved to be one of the best surprises of 2018, a true never seen it coming -really “that good” sort of way. At that time, we wrote a pretty exhaustive review about it.
Since then, PS Speicher granted access to its depos, their large warehouses refurbished into fully-fledged Museums. These depos do not feature the state of the art technology of the PS Speicher, but they are recently renovated, and most segments are equipped with decorations and explanations.
The microcar depo dedicated an entire floor to the oddities of the collection, from Batmobile to cars that could have come from the Island of Dr Moreau.
The first barrel car is a hot rod from 1975 built by Gerry Nimz, powered by a V8.
It is accompanied by another wooden car, a FIAT 508 from the 30s, modded with a wooden chassis stemming from the ’60s.
Probably the most striking car is Batman’s Thumbler, inspired by the movies directed by Christopher Nolan. But if you are looking for invincible abilities, the brand Zhejiang Xinyang might provide an early warning.

The car is not a one-off: in 2010, you could even order the tumbler from the Chinese online retailer Alibaba via the Internet.
There were a few oddities that looked like wannabe aeroplanes or even spaceships. Most of these vehicles never lift off from the ground, even if they look like they could…
One particular highlight was the covered motorbike Monotracer, a Swiss-made vehicle using BMW technology.
I am not convinced that the two-wheeler with two auxiliary wheels would prove more efficient, but nevertheless, these massive beasts might actually work.
On the other hand, the centaur made of two Mercedes 190E does not make any sense at all. But it is still an interesting idea, like a creature from the island of doctor Moreau….
The car is based on the model named Baby Benz, but this is actually a Siamese twin. The car is an expensive advertising stunt by a Dutch rental company, as the automobile that matches your semi-detached house.
This Merc cost some 160.000 Dutch gulden, which corresponds to around 72,000 euros by today (inflation adjusted). The car was actually road legal in the Netherlands (well, it is also permitted to sell Marijuana over there : ) ).
The certainly offers a lot by doubling the entire front half. It has two steering wheels, two centre consoles and even two radios.
The other side of this hall also hosts a few wrecks, so derelict that not even a factory museum could revive them. Nevertheless, they are surrounded by interesting decorations and look quite interesting even in such a state.
