The best Bond cars of all time, from the Bond in Motion exhibition

The current Bond in Motion exhibition inspired us to bring together our personal favourite cars from the James Bond Franchise. Throughout the decades, James Bond’s character earned the status of a cultural icon, partly due to the gadgets and cars MI6 provides to its agent with the licence to kill.

In the past 60 years and 25 official films, Bond has used a wide variety of vehicles, from jetpacks to space shuttles. The most memorable ones were still the company cars he used during his missions. Luckily, MI6 usually contracted Aston Martin to supply stylish and lethal means of transportation.

Aston Martins were featured already in the novels, but Bond’s first silver screen Aston arrived only in the third movie, Goldfinger. It proved to be an astonishing success, that tied the iconic British brand to the character, despite the fact that Aston Martin was seldom drafted as a hero car until the 2000s.

For many years, the BMW Group provided company cars for the franchise as part of a massive product placement deal. But from 2002, the Ford Motor Company went all in (almost literally). This meant the return of Aston Martin hero cars, next to many other Ford-owned marques.

Fortunately, Aston Martin stayed with the franchise, even after Ford quit both the British car brand and Bond movies. We tried to represent all epochs, brands and purposes, and we trust that you will enjoy this list. You may get to cast a vote at the end, but If you disagree, leave a comment below. Before that we share with you a gallery of our past encounters with Bond cars.

On the next pages of this article, you will see our all time favourites (you can navigate between the cars with the numerical buttons), and you can even vote on your favourite car in the last page.
