The coolest cars of the Paris Car Show

8. Hopium deserves an award just for its name

The Hopium company was founded in 2019 by French racing driver Olivier Lombard. He is only 31 this year, but already in 2021, he won the LMP2 category of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (finishing 8th overall).

They used a massive space in a minimalist style, where a small and light podium was installed in a middle of a large empty white stage. It definitely looked great with its minimalist approach in the spirit of Apple’s John Ive.

The car showcased is their Hopium Māchina concept (we never knew such vocal exited on our keyboard…). You see, the founder loves weird names doubling down with the model designation. Or we are just not native French speakers… The elegant sedan is a hydrogen-powered luxury car scheduled to enter the market in a few years, and I am sure Apple fans will queue up for them.

  1. strange car, strange concept. I would say it’s a Hopium for the masses, but the price tag will most probably be eye-watering
