6. NAMX is another promising hydrogen project
NamX is a French-Moroccan company developing hybrid refuelling systems demonstrated with its fuel cell electric vehicle concept, the HUV.
The name NamX stands for New Automotive and Mobility eXploration. The model designation HUV comes from hydrogen utility vehicle and sums up pretty well: this concept is essentially a hydrogen-powered SUV. The HUV can host six CapX capsules, and together with a fixed hydrogen tank, they can fuel the crossover for up to 800 km.
The most important innovation of the car is a tank of removable hydrogen tank capsules, adding extra range between hydrogen stations. This solves the current problems of sparse refuelling networks. The CapX capsules hold around 8 kg of hydrogen, and it takes about 30 seconds to swap. The capsules should be available from the proprietary CapXtore stores or ordered online from 2025 onwards.
NamX HUV will be available in two versions, one with 300 horsepower and rear-wheel drive and a GTH version with all-wheel drive and 550 horsepower. The GTH can reach a 250-kmph and needs 4.5-seconds to 100.
strange car, strange concept. I would say it’s a Hopium for the masses, but the price tag will most probably be eye-watering
