It is quite interesting to see how car racing (and notably the rules of endurance racing) evolved throughout the years. There is a great variation between brands too, from Alfa Romeo, Bentley through a umber of less proliferate French Marques (like Alpine, Talbot and Simca) to Porsche and Audi all the way to the final victory of Toyota in a race against itself.
