Spoiler alert! – The Lamborghini Pavilion in Autostadt

The Lamborghini Pavillion is located by the lakes in an excessively simple boxy black building. As the exhibition is centred around a presentation of a film (and a surprise appearance of a car), and given the place for about a dozen spectators, the schedule might imply waiting times, well beyond the 15 minutes of the show.

The boxy building has an extraordinary feat, a revolving door that spins around an orange Aventador glued to the flappy trap door. Outside presentation, the Aventador becomes the external (well, basically the only) decoration of the building, and during the performance, the door spins the car to the inside.

This show element is particularly stunning if you do not have a peek on the building from the riverside. In fact, I noticed the kids waiting by the exterior for the spin, just to see how it is on the other side. It is quite a nice feature…

When the revolving door is shut (in any of the two positions), a dark and mysterious interior space awaits the visitors upon entry, followed by a breathtaking arrival of the Aventador (given the artificial smoke 🙂 ).

The Aventador show is followed by a somewhat questionable cinematic with a lot of weird CGI, whereby an Aventador tries to escape the apocalypse (guess who wins in the end). I was not particularly impressed by the film segment until when a few months later, I found my son staring at the same video at our home without all the suspense, smoke and revolving door. So if it works on those younglings without the show, it would mesmerize him during the visit…
